Exchange Students Cultural Tour on February 9 - Lovely Animals Feeding Experience and Bamboo Rice DIY and Luodong Night Market in Yilan Tour

On February 9th, the Office of International Programs will be hosting a one-day cultural tour to Yilan County, where students will gain a better understanding of the Taiwanese culture. Come and join us on your first adventure in Taiwan

Shi Yuan Restaurant
Taiwan's delicacies are world famous. Only in Taiwan is possible to enjoy authentic cuisine from the various regions within Asia. Each dish has unique flavors and is sure to leave you wanting more.

Ama Zhangmei Farm
The next stop on the tour will be "Mama Zhang Mei Farm". It is located in Sanxing Township, Yilan, where the mountains are green and the water is bright. It has a relaxed and friendly environment, there are lovely deer, capybara and other animals in the garden, you can experience feeding and interaction in person.

Bamboo Rice DIY
There are also a variety of DIY activities to participate in, let’s have fun with Bamboo Rice DIY! Rice in a bamboo tube is aboriginal style Tube rice pudding. Tube rice pudding is a Taiwanese specialty consisting of a stir-fried sticky rice mixture that is seasoned and steamed in a bamboo tube.

Near the farm there is a Bald Cypress, it is an imported species from North America. It has beautiful feather-like compound leaves, gives a fantastic view of yellow fall leaves.

Luodong Night Market
At the end of the day, we will visit Luodong Night Market for some traditional snacks and stalls selling clothing, shoes, accessories, and many other items. Luodong Night Market is one of Taiwan’s biggest night markets and is a wonderful place to shop and dine.
