Participating in the buddy program allowed me to gain meaningful cultural exchange experiences and develop a deeper understanding of both my own culture and my buddy’s. Through our conversations and shared activities, I realized that cultural exchange goes far beyond discussing traditions—it involves observing daily habits, comparing perspectives, and learning to communicate with openness and respect. This experience helped me break stereotypes, appreciate diversity, and become more aware of how cultural backgrounds shape people’s behaviors and ways of thinking. It also pushed me to step outside my comfort zone, improve my communication skills, and build confidence in interacting across cultures. Ultimately, the program allowed us to form a genuine friendship and strengthened my global awareness. I believe this opportunity has enriched my university life and will continue to influence how I approach cultural diversity in the future.
