REPORT 1 – ARRIVAL TO SINGAPORE
I arrived to Singapore on Tuesday 2nd of November, my flight landed at 2.30 a.m., that
moment I was really tired but still amazed by the beauty of the Singapore Airport, and by
the views of the city while I was sitting in the taxi going to my new apartment.
When I arrived to the apartment the Landlord was waiting for me, the place I was living
was a family 3 floors house with small garden in front and backyard, really nice and
comfortable. The neighborhood looked that was not part of Singapore, was not composed
by those typical Singaporean big buildings (HDB or Condos), it was just composed by
around 200 3 floors houses with their small garden and backyard, the area was really safe
and quite.
The second day of my stay I decided to go for a walk in the Nanyang Campus and
arrange all the pre-course registration and ask for the Student Pass registration. So, I
printed my campus map, all my documentation and I left home to take bus 199. When the
bus was going thru the school I realized how huge the campus actually was, there around
8 bus stops inside the campus. When I decided to exit the bus I realized that I miss my
bus stop, so I decided to check the map and go back walking, it took me 1 hour to find the
International House (the first place I tried to go). Then I start to look for the MBA Office,
if you know the right way only take 5 minutes from one place to another, however I got
lost and I walked for around 40 minutes to find it. The day was exhausting but finally I
finish everything I needed to do.
The next step was go to immigration and prepare the student pass, however, that was not
as complicated as walking around the campus. To go to immigration first you need to
book an appointment on-line and the day of the appointment you just need to go to
Lavender MRT with all the documentation needed and in one hour you have your student
pass (kind of Singaporean ID). Quite simple.
